Come sweat the night away

on Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. There will be two types of classes offered, each one guaranteed to make you sweat.

  • For those of you looking for a more relaxed, deep-stretch, check out the Yin Fusion Flow.

  • If want to get a great physical and mental workout, then CORE is for you!

Each class will be 45 minutes long. The first 30 minutes will be dedicated to the principles of the classes being offered with the last 15 minutes dedicated to deep stretch and brief mediation. The purchase of your ticket includes use of a yoga mat and towel. Just bring water!

A note from Hillary

“When my husband asked me what I wanted to do for my birthday last year, my mind first went to the typical birthday celebration: a nice dinner with friends where we would make poor eating decisions compounded by copious drinking and, of course, a dessert with a candle in it no doubt resulting in a two to three-day recovery period for me.  Instead of putting my mind and body through this ordeal, I wanted to do something healthy combined with something that I love. What do I love that is also a healthy activity? That’s it… Yoga!

In 2010, I was diagnosed with Bipolar II.  I turned to yoga as a means of daily management of my illness.  By hosting a yoga event for my birthday, I figured I could help my friends to experience the amazing benefits yoga offers while also ensuring a healthy night out for me.  But then something hit me… Maybe it was the high from the endorphins of the CORE Yoga class I just completed, or maybe I was a bit manic, but while lying on my mat, gasping for air, I realized I could make this idea something so much bigger than just a birthday celebration: why not host an event for my friends and family to come to Yoga and donate the proceeds to a mental health organization dedicated to helping Lawyers?!  Brilliant! Now, you have 28 days to make that happen!  

Fortunately, with the help of the amazing staff at Yoga Joint, my little “manic” idea has blossomed into a full-on fundraising event for the Florida Lawyers Assistance Program.  On Saturday, October 20, 2018, we hosted our first Namaste the Stigma Away event.”
